Is Disney’s Memory Maker Worth it?

What is Memory Maker?

Memory Maker is the prepurchase of all photos taken at Disney World. Includes ride photos, character meet and greet photos, and photos taken by photographers stationed around the parks.

How much is Memory Maker?

Advanced purchase is $185. You only need to purchase one per group, no matter the size of your group. If you are connected through friends and family in your Disney account then everyone's photos will show up, even if the group splits up at times.

How many photos do you get with Memory Maker?

Depends! I've seen clients end up with over 300 pictures, but it will depend on how often you stop to get your photo taken. Disney photographers can be found all over. They wear bright green vests. The more you stop, the more photos you'll get! Even without stopping, you'll get ride photos and character meet and greet ones.

How do I use Memory Maker?

Scan your Magic Band, mobile pass, or key card at the photo pass stations and the photos will automatically show up in your account. This works for anyone in your travel group that is connected via friends and family in the app. One person in the group will be officially assigned to Memory Maker. While all can view and take photos, the assigned person is the only one who can download them and then distribute to the rest of the group however they would like to.

So, Is Memory Maker worth it?

For me, absolutely. I highly recommend it. You get some awesome photos, and you never have to worry about finding someone else to take pics of your whole group. Everyone will be in them, including the mom that is typically behind the camera. Plus, you get specialty photos like magic shots and ride pics! It's the best Disney add-on, in my opinion.
