Can I Take a Baby on Disney Cruise Line?

You absolutely can take babies on Disney Cruise Line, provided that they are meet the minimum age for your specific sailing. You CANNOT take a baby younger than 6 months old on any cruise line or any itinerary. Most Disney itineraries have a minimum age of 6 months of age or older, but Transatlantic, Panama Canal and Hawaii itineraries require the child to be 1 year. Here are my tips for taking babies onboard a Disney Cruise Line Cruise!

Tips for Babies on Disney Cruise Line

  1. Requests: On Disney Cruise Line, you can put in requests that will make sailing with a baby a little easier. These include: distilled water for formula, cribs, bottle sterilizers, playpens, strollers, diaper genies, bottle warmers, high chairs, or a quieter location within the dining room for dinner.

  2. In the dining rooms, Disney Cruise Line will prepare freshly pureed vegetables upon request.

  3. Other baby items like diapers, rash cream, shampoo, formula, etc are available for purchase in the gift shops. Guests may bring baby food and formula on board the ship as carry-on items as long as they are pre-packaged, unopened and do not require any food preparation from the kitchen.

  4. The "it's a small world nursery" is an infant care center on board that accepts children aged 6 months to 3 years. Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis during the open house on Embarkation Day or anytime throughout your cruise. Space is limited, so make your reservations early. For this age group, there is an extra fee for childcare.

  5. Every ship has a wet play area or splash area where babies/toddlers are allowed to play provided that they wear a swim diaper. Complimentary pool vests are also provided. Children that are not yet potty trained cannot get in the regular pools or spas, even when wearing a swim diaper. This is due to requirements by the United States Public Health Service.
